 Background:
District Administration has brought forward the request to restructure the Department of School Culture and Climate. The role and delivery of support services has changed since the development of the department in 2019. The department has found that individuals and site teams needing technical assistance receive it best when delivered by a certificated teacher with previous exemplary classroom culture and climate. This position needs to be expanded to encompass all department initiatives including lesson design as well as culture and climate technical assistance. Culture and climate coaching provide educators with assistance for identified classroom needs to improve the practice in creating and maintaining effective environments for student learning (CSTP-2).
 Rationale:

The District Culture & Climate Coach (K-12) will provide leadership, expertise and support at the district and site level for the full implementation of school culture and climate and various behavior initiatives in the district (PBIS, character education, restorative justice, culturally responsive teaching, trauma-informed practices and social- emotional learning) in grades K-12. Provide ongoing, job-embedded training and support to site level staff to build instructional capacity and effectiveness. Services that are provided will be supplementary to the district’s baseline program.

This position reports to the Director of School Culture and Climate.
