 Agenda Item:
Request approval of the Affiliation Agreement between Touro University Worldwide and Madera Unified School District (MUSD) beginning April 28, 2021, through June 15, 2026, to provide university students a supervised experience with field instruction in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT).

Christine Doss, Director of Health and Wellness

 Agenda Placement:Consent
 Effective Dates: 4/28/2021
 Item Status:New Item

 Background:
Touro University operates a fully accredited Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) for graduate students who need to fulfill the requirement of completing field practicum hours for their degree. This agreement would allow MUSD to be a field placement option for Touro University students, thus providing more counseling psychology services (mental health, individual therapy, group therapy and family therapy) for our students at no cost to the district.
 Rationale:
Serving as a field placement option for Touro University practicum students would assist the Madera Unified School District's mental health clinicians to expand services. The clinicians would be able to support more students and families in the district. They would be able to assist with behavioral health caseloads, facilitate groups, and provide mental health treatment for students and families. Practicum students would be free and a valuable support to Madera Unified School District to serve more students.
 Fiscal Impact:
None
