| | | | | | | | Solution Tree was scheduled to conduct a PLC at Work Live Institute in Fresno, CA, for the fist time back in July 2020. However, due to COVID-19, the event was postponed. They have now rescheduled the event for June 15-18, 2021, but in a socially distanced format. The event will be held live in Fresno with limited attendance and streamed live to participating districts/school sites. District Leadership worked with Solution Tree representatives in conjunction with other districts in the area to bring a PLC Institute to Fresno. MUSD has had good attendance at PLC Institutes in the past when they have been held in San Diego or San Jose.
School site funds were used originally and we currently have a credit of $247,351. We plan to purchase 5 site licenses (Madera South High School, Madera High School. Matilda Torres High School, Desmond Middle School and Virginia Lee Rose) at $24,000 each along with some materials for each participant. Each site license give us the ability to stream to 8 different locations within the school site. After all costs, we will have a credit of $98,220.92 that will be refunded back to Madera Unified.
We have 380 participants scheduled to attend. |
Professional learning communities (PLCs) are schools that empower educators to work collaboratively in recurring cycles of collective inquiry and action research to achieve better results for the students they serve. Developing a collaborative PLC culture is the foundation for creating high-performing schools that are focused on improving student achievement. Our schools will continue their work on the next phases of their improvement journey by closing the knowing-doing gap and building a true professional learning community that ensures the success of every student. |
